Associate Sales Representative (Software)

SUMMARY:
Sell Ventyx’ software solutions, services, market analytics and annual support services to businesses by performing the following duties. This position will be located in Tokyo, Japan after completion of a 3-4 month training program in Atlanta, GA. Successful candidates need to be fluent in Japanese and very proficient in English.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Sales Executives in assigned area through:

• Preparation of material for meeting with clients and prospects.
• Manage license maintenance and recurring revenue renewal process within assigned territory.
• Perform demand generation and prospecting activities for the region.
• Meet new account sales quotas for products, services, and support by closing revenue recognizable contracts.
• Meet installed account sales quotas for products and services by closing recognizable contracts.
• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, Ventyx ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
• Travel throughout assigned region and/or territory to call on existing and prospective customers to solicit orders or talk with customers by phone, e-mail, web conference, etc.
• Analyze customers' needs and recommend solution that best meets the customers' requirements.
• Maintain current product knowledge.
• Keep abreast of current Ventyx solutions and services as well as market competitors.
• Emphasize salable features such as flexibility, cost, capacity, business benefits, economy of operation, and total economic value.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
• Consult with Sales Application Consultants and Services AE's for scope and implementation of solutions and on highly technical problems.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into the SalesForce.com computer database.
• Maintain call activity reports, update sale automation systems, and prepare expense reports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers (purchasing contacts).
• Coordinate consulting services for client issues and concerns during and post implementation.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
• Participate as Ventyx representative at trade shows.
• Other duties may be assigned to support the organization and its goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year accredited college or university; one to three years related sales experience preferred but not essential.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and benefits focused proposals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual in Japanese/English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, and to calculate accurate pricing, discounts, and margins both manually and with software spreadsheets.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
