Please join us for a discussion about the landmark Supreme Court case Korematsu v. United States (1944) and its aftermath. Korematsu covers a story of internment and violations of the constitutional rights of Japanese-Americans who resided in a West Coast “military area” during World War II. While we are all familiar with World War II, this story of “a grave injustice,” “race prejudice, war hysteria and a failure of political leadership” remains less known. Don’t miss this relevant and memorable program. Space is limited so RSVP by emailing jarvarus.gresham@alston.com as soon as you can.
