Please join us for our May General Meeting as we enjoy a very special program listening to the beautiful music of the Koto, Japan’s national instrument. Our Koto performer, Ms. Madoka Ito, was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As a young child, she lived in Dusseldorf, Germany, but maintained her interest in and study of Japanese culture. Ito-san continued practicing the Koto after graduation in 2016 when she received the highest level of certification. She is still taking lessons via Skype. After marrying, she and her husband moved to Atlanta, but they now live in Macon. Ito-san will play a selection of traditional Japanese songs as well as some Disney tunes.
