We will be visiting the Atlanta Hisotry Center and the relocated Cyclorama, followed by lunch at Grand China Restaurant.

Details
The Atlanta History Center is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of our region. It features a vast array of exhibits, historical buildings, and beautiful gardens. One of the center's standout attractions is the Cyclorama, a massive panoramic painting that depicts the Battle of Atlanta during the Civil War. This impressive work of art, created in the late 19th century, provides a vivid, immersive experience of the battle, enhanced by a circular viewing platform and a diorama of the battlefield. The Cyclorama is accompanied by interpretive exhibits that explore the historical context of the battle and its significance in American history.
Lunch Details
We will enjoy a lovely lunch at Grand China restaurant. This award winning restaurant has been operating in Buckhead since 1978.
Menu
- Soup: choice of wonton, egg drop or hot and sour.
- Appetizers: pork, chicken and shrimp gyoza and spring roll
- Family style entrees: Peking Duck, Princess Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Szechwan Ginger & Garlic Shrimp, Vegetarian Rice Noodles,
- Dessert: Chinese Donuts, Hot tea and water
Schedule
- 9:45am - gather in the lobby of the history center.
- 10:00am (SHARP) - begin self-guided tour.
- 12:00 - 12:30pm - depart AHC for the restaurant
- 12:30pm - Lunch at Grand China restaurant and meeting

Parking/Arrival Information
Arrival - We will meet at between 9:30 and 10:00 am in the lobby of the Atlanta History Center. Parking at the Atlanta History Center is free. As you enter the driveway, bear RIGHT into the parking garage.
The restaurant is located a 5 minute drive from the Atlanta History Center. Parking is in the back (through an arch on the left of the restaurant) and free of charge.
