The Japan-America Society of Georgia celebrates the holidays at its 45th Bonenkai Holiday Dinner Gala on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the Piedmont Driving Club. This year's dinner features remarks by the new Consul General of Japan, meet & greet with Nippon Professional Baseball legends, as well as a networking cocktail reception, door prizes & performances by Junko Fujiyama.

12月18日 (木) にジョージア日米協会の第45回忘年会ディナーがピードモント ドライビング・クラブで開催されます。皆様に楽しい夕べの集いを持っていただけますようご案内を差し上げます。今回は新任の在アトランタ日本国総領事によるご挨拶、日本プロ野球界のレジェンドとの交流会、ネットワーキング・カクテルレセプション、豪華なドアプライズ、そしてJunko Fujiyamaさんによるパフォーマンスなど、盛りだくさんの内容で皆様をお迎えいたします。皆様のご参加を心よりお待ちしております。

All proceeds from the auction will fund The JASG’s many educational, business, and cultural projects we offer throughout the year.

Special Guests & Speakers

Consul General Kenichi Matsuda assumed his post at the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta in October 2025. This is his first diplomatic assignment in the United States. Prior to this role, he held senior positions at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Imperial Household Agency, including serving as Chamberlain to the Emperor and Crown Prince. As Consul General, he is dedicated to strengthening Japan-U.S. relations through grassroots diplomacy, supporting Japanese residents and businesses, and promoting cultural, educational, and economic exchange across Georgia and the Southeastern United States.

Amy Hever serves as Executive Director of the MLB Players Trust, the charitable arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association. A graduate of Binghamton University with a background in History and East Asian Studies, she brings over two decades of nonprofit leadership experience, including roles with the Smithsonian Institution, American Red Cross, and the Philadelphia 76ers. Having spent part of her youth in Japan and attended the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Amy is passionate about cross-cultural engagement and sport-based philanthropy, working to connect MLB players with meaningful causes around the world.

Greg “Boomer” Wells is a legendary figure in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), best known for his time with the Hankyu Braves (later Orix BlueWave) and Fukuoka Daiei Hawks from 1983 to 1992. In 1984, he made history as the first non-Japanese player to win the NPB Triple Crown, leading the Pacific League with a .355 batting average, 37 home runs, and 130 RBIs. That same year, he was named Pacific League MVP. Over his NPB career, Boomer hit 277 home runs and drove in 901 RBIs, earning a reputation not only for his power at the plate but also for his deep connection to Japanese baseball culture.

Ralph Bryant is one of the most prolific power hitters in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) history. A native of Fort Gaines, Georgia, he played for the Kintetsu Buffaloes from 1988 to 1995. In 1989, he was named Pacific League MVP and went on to lead the league in home runs three times (1989, 1993, 1994). Ralph finished his NPB career with 259 home runs and 641 RBIs. Known for his explosive swing and charismatic presence, he helped elevate the Buffaloes to championship contention and remains a beloved figure among Japanese baseball fans.
